68-69
Royal Hospital Road, Chelsea, London,
SW3
Tel: 020 7352 4441

Restaurant Review
For the well-heeled, this small
restaurant serving haute cuisine, is
notoriously difficult to get a
reservation for, but simmers with the
enthusiasm and ‘crispness’ of the
chef. Made infamous by a fly on the wall
TV documentary, which displayed more of
Gordon Ramsay’s volatile temperament
than the food, it is still worth trying
to get a reservation.

Monte's
Club, 164 Sloane Street, London, SW1X
9QB
Telephone: 020 7245 0896

Restaurant
Review
Jamie Oliver, or the Naked Chef to
millions of viewers, has brought his
witty cuisine to the refurbished
restaurant in top Knightsbridge club
Monte's. Mediterranean and home-grown
British produce dominate the simple, but
flavoursome menu. The public are invited
to lunch in the wood-panelled elegance
of the restaurant Monday to Saturday.
Sadly, it's members only for dinner.

68-69
Royal Hospital Road, City, London, SW3
Tel: 020 7352 4441

Restaurant
Review
Beautifully presented food is served at
this Chinese eaterie - brainchild of
celebrity chef Ken Hom. Situated within
the vaulted cellars of the 400 year old
Royal Exchange, the sumptuous décor
proves the perfect backdrop for his
imaginative Oriental cuisine. Don’t
let the ‘city suits’ who frequent
the joint put you off!

224
Piccadilly, London, Piccadilly, W1
Tel: 020 7930 0488

Restaurant Review
If the food
doesn’t knock you out (although its
fair to say it will..) the décor is
simply stunning. The gold ceilings
dominate the venue and are more than
complemented by the neo-classical
paintings that embellish the marble
walls. Marco Pierre White’s
‘showcase’ attracts a suited crowd
clamouring for the fabulous French food
he regularly serves.

43
Upper Brook Street, Mayfair, W1
Tel: 020 7408 0881

Restaurant Review
A word of
warning: fantastic food, fabulous décor
and fastidious staff, but sky-high
prices to match. If you’ve got the
means, make the most of it and sample
the delights of Michel Roux’s culinary
wizardry. The wine list is renowned as
the most extensive (and expensive) in
the capital, but you can’t put a price
on perfection!
